Ingredients
- 1 ½lbsasparagustrimmed and washed
- 1tbspbutter
- 1smalloniondiced
- 1garlic cloveminced
- 2 ¼cupschicken brothnot low sodium
- salt & black pepperto taste
- ½tsplemon juicefresh
- ½cupheavy creamor to taste
- parmesan cheesefor serving, optional
Instructions

Cut asparagus into ½-inch pieces.

Cook onion and garlic in butter over medium heat until tender.

Add asparagus and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Stir in broth, salt, and pepper. Cover and let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until asparagus is softened.

Using a hand blender, puree soup until smooth. Stir in cream and lemon juice.
