How To Make Pan-Fried Whole Trout

Ingredients

  • 4 whole trout, cleaned and gutted
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the trout, inside and out, with salt and pepper.

  2. Dredge the trout in flour, shaking off any excess.

  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  4. Place the trout in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. Transfer the cooked trout to a serving platter and keep warm.

  6. In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the lemon slices. Cook for 2 minutes, until fragrant.

  7. Pour the lemon butter sauce over the trout and garnish with fresh parsley.

  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
