Ingredients

  • 4 cups of beef or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp of cold water
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring the broth to a boil.

  2. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and cold water until dissolved.

  3. In another saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  4. Whisk in the flour until smooth.

  5. Gradually pour in the hot broth while stirring constantly.

  6. Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.

  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

  8. Gradually whisk in the cornstarch mixture and simmer for another 5 minutes, until thickened.

  9. Serve the gravy over a plate of crispy french fries and cheese curds.
