  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp thyme, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 24 fresh oysters, shucked

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan and sauté onions and garlic until softened.

  2. Add flour and stir until smooth.

  3. Gradually add in chicken broth while stirring continuously.

  4. Add cream, thyme, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Add shucked oysters and simmer for 5 more minutes.

  6. Serve hot with crackers or bread.
