How To Make Classic Ambrosia Salad

Ambrosia salad is a classic side dish that combines cherries, pineapples, mandarin oranges, coconut and pecans and tosses them in a rich cream sauce.

Ingredients

  • 8ozcool whip,thawed
  • ½cupsour cream
  • 1canmandarin oranges,(15 oz), drained
  • 1cupfresh pineapple,chopped
  • ¾cupmaraschino cherries,without stems, sliced in half
  • 3cupmarshmallows
  • 1cupcoconut,shredded
  • ¾cuppecans,chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl add thawed cool whip and sour cream and stir until combined. Add in the mandarin oranges, pineapple, cherries, marshmallows, coconut and pecans.

  2. Stir until combined and chill salad for at least 1 hour or overnight.
