How To Make All American Pizza
This scrumptious all American pizza tops a chewy homemade crust with pizza sauce, cheese, and Italian sausage for a heavenly bite.
Ingredients
- 2½ cups bread flour
- 2½ tsp instant yeast, (1 package) platinum or quick rise
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cups pizza sauce
Optional Toppings:
- parmesan, mozzarella or asiago
- mushrooms
- onions
- olives
- green peppers
- pepperoni
- Italian sausage, cooked
- anchovies
Instructions

In a medium mixer bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, yeast, and salt; mix well.

Combine water and oil; heat to 120 to 130 degrees F; add to flour mixture.

Blend at low speed until moistened; beat for 3 minutes at medium speed. By hand, gradually stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.

Knead on a floured surface for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Shape the dough into a ball, cover, and allow it to rest for 15 minutes.

Divide dough into 2 equal parts. With well-floured or greased fingers, press each half into greased 2 12 or 14-inch pizza pan.

Sprinkle ¼ cup of shredded cheese over dough to prevent a soggy crust.

Spread prepared ¾ cup of pizza sauce on each pizza.

Add choice of toppings.

Cover with shredded cheese of choice.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the edge is crisp and lightly golden brown and cheeses are melted.
