Buffalo Chicken Meatball Sub Recipe

How To Make Buffalo Chicken Meatball Sub

You won’t get enough of these tasty and mouthwatering buffalo chicken meatballs in between sub rolls that are lightly toasted with garlic butter! Yum!

  • 6Cobblestone Bread Co. White Grinder Sub Rolls
  • ½cupbutter
  • 1tspgarlic powder
  • ½tspparsley
  • fresh coleslaw
  • ranch,or bleu cheese dressing, to taste
  • cupsbuffalo hot sauce

For Meatballs:

  • ½cupPanko bread crumbs
  • ¼cupbuffalo hot sauce
  • cupcelery,diced
  • 2tbsponion,minced
  • 1egg,separated
  • pepper,to taste
  • 1lbchicken,ground

For Breading:

  • 2eggs
  • 2tspflour
  • 2tbspmilk
  • 2cupsPanko bread crumbs


  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Pour 2 cups of bread crumbs into a bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine 2 eggs, 1 egg yolk, milk, and flour. Whisk until smooth and set aside.

  4. In a small bowl, combine ½ cup bread crumbs, hot sauce, celery, onion, and the reserved egg white. Add the ground chicken and mix until combined.

  5. Divide into 18 equal pieces and roll into balls. Roll each ball in the Panko crumbs, dip into the egg mixture, and roll in the Panko crumbs again.

  6. Place on a rack and bake for 25 minutes.

  7. Open the Cobblestone Bread Co. White Grinder Sub Rolls and spread butter on each. Sprinkle with parsley and garlic powder.

  8. Broil for about 3 to 4 minutes or just until lightly toasted.

  9. Place fresh coleslaw on each roll.

  10. Toss the meatballs, a few at a time, in the heated buffalo sauce. Place 3 meatballs on each White Grinder Sub Roll and drizzle with dressing.

  11. Garnish with a sandwich pick.

Recipe Notes

The meatballs can be made and cooked up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated. (Do not toss in buffalo sauce until serving). Reheat them in the oven at 375 degrees F for about 15 minutes, and then toss with buffalo sauce as directed.
