How To Make Fried Venison Backstrap

Ingredients

  • 1 pound venison backstrap
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the venison backstrap into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

  3. In another shallow dish, whisk the eggs and milk together.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

  5. Dip the venison slices into the egg mixture, then coat in the flour mixture, pressing the flour onto the meat.

  6. Fry the venison slices in the hot oil for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  7. Remove from the pan and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  8. Serve the fried venison backstrap hot and enjoy!
