Ingredients

  • 4 slices of crusty Italian bread
  • 2 cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 large tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup of fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to broil.

  2. Place the slices of bread on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven until golden brown on both sides.

  3. While the bread is toasting, rub one side of each slice with a clove of garlic.

  4. Drizzle the toasted side of each slice with olive oil.

  5. In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  6. Spoon the tomato mixture evenly onto the toasted side of each slice of bread.

  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
