Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 (8 oz) beef steaks
- 1 bottle of stout beer
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 medium-sized potatoes, thinly sliced
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
-
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until nicely browned. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion is softened.
-
Pour in the stout beer and beef broth. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Return the steaks to the skillet, making sure they are partially submerged in the braising liquid. Cover the skillet and transfer to the preheated oven. Braise for 1 hour or until the steaks are tender.
-
While the steaks are braising, prepare the stacked chips. In a deep fryer or a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
-
Fry the potato slices in batches until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt.
-
Once the steaks are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes. Slice the steaks.
-
Serve the sliced stout-braised steaks with the crispy stacked chips. Enjoy!
