Served with cayenne-spiced butter sauce, this shrimp boil is a savory seafood dish cooked in a flavorful blend of vinegar, lemon, and spices.

Ingredients

  • 6cupswater
  • ¼cupvinegar
  • ½lemon
  • 2garlic cloves
  • 5tbspOld Bay seasoning
  • ½tsppeppercorns
  • tspsalt
  • tspcayenne
  • 4bay leaves
  • 2lbslarge shrimp
  • ½lbunsalted butter
  • 4tspWorcestershire sauce
  • 2tsplemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the water, vinegar, lemon slices, garlic, Old Bay Seasoning, peppercorns, ½ teaspoon of the salt, ¼ teaspoon of the cayenne, and bay leaves.

  2. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the shrimp to the pot.

  3. Cover and bring back to a boil. Then, continue boiling for 1 to 2 minutes, partially covered, until the shrimp are just done. Drain.

  4. In a small stainless-steel saucepan, melt the butter. Remove the pan from the heat and add the Worcestershire sauce, the lemon juice and the remaining 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of cayenne.

  5. Divide the sauce among four small bowls. Serve the shrimp with the butter dipping sauce, and enjoy!
