How To Make Crawfish Boil Recipe

A classic Cajun-inspired seafood boil loaded with fresh crawfish, potatoes, corn, and sausages.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 8 lbs live crawfish
  • 3 lbs baby potatoes
  • 6 corn on the cob, shucked and halved
  • 1 lb smoked sausages, sliced
  • 4 lemons, halved
  • 1 cup of seafood boil seasonings
  • 8 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 2 onions, halved
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot halfway with water and add the seafood boil seasonings, garlic, onion, bay leaves, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil.

  2. Add the potatoes and cook for 10 minutes.

  3. Add the corn and sausages and cook for 5 more minutes.

  4. Add the crawfish to the pot and cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the crawfish are fully cooked and bright red.

  5. Once fully cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove everything from the pot and transfer to a large platter.

  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the crawfish boil and sprinkle with salt to taste.

  7. Serve with lemon halves on the side.
