
How To Make Gluten-Free Black Forest Cake Recipe
A decadent gluten-free chocolate cake with layers of whipped cream and cherry compote, topped with chocolate shavings.

Ingredients
- 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup whipped cream
- 1/2 cup cherry compote
- chocolate shavings, for garnish
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease two 6-inch round cake pans.

In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, beat sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add in dry ingredients and applesauce, mixing until just combined.

Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centers comes out clean.

Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cakes are cool, spread whipped cream on top of one cake layer, followed by cherry compote. Place second cake layer on top and garnish with chocolate shavings.
