Ingredients
- 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch cake pan and set aside.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, mix together oil, buttermilk, egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool before frosting.
