How To Make Herring Baked with Potatoes
A hearty and flavorful dish of baked herring and potatoes.

Ingredients
- 4 whole herring, gutted and cleaned
- 4 medium potatoes, scrubbed and sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon, sliced
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F.

In a bowl, mix the sliced potatoes, onion, garlic, olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Arrange the potato mixture in a single layer in a large baking dish.

Place the herring on top of the potato mixture, stuffing each fish with a few slices of lemon.

Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the herring is cooked through.

Serve hot with additional lemon wedges on the side.
