How To Make Herring and Onion Quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 cup herring fillets, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

  2. In a pan, sauté the onion in butter until softened and slightly browned.

  3. Sprinkle the chopped herring onto the bottom of the pie crust, then spread the sautéed onions on top.

  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper.

  5. Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust, covering the herring and onions.

  6. Bake the quiche for 40 minutes, or until the center is set and the crust is golden brown.

  7. Serve hot or warm.
