Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 leek, thinly sliced
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 200g cooked ham, diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the leek and cook until softened.

  3. Add the diced potatoes and cooked ham to the skillet. Cook for another 5 minutes, until the potatoes are slightly tender.

  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well to combine.

  5. Gradually add the milk and chicken broth, stirring constantly. Cook until the mixture thickens.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.

  8. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and place it over the filling, trimming any excess.

  9. Brush the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.

  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the pastry is puffed up and golden.

  11. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
