Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rum or bourbon
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Peel the bananas and slice them in half lengthwise.

  3. In a large ovenproof skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

  4. Add the brown sugar and stir until melted and bubbly.

  5. Carefully place the banana halves in the skillet, cut side down.

  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until caramelized.

  7. Flip the bananas over and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

  8. Remove the skillet from heat and pour the rum or bourbon over the bananas.

  9. Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the bananas are soft and caramelized.

  10. Serve the boozy baked caramelised bananas warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
