  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 2 slices ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, add water, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, Shaoxing wine, ginger, garlic, and green onions. Bring to a boil.

  2. Add the chicken thighs and simmer for 30 minutes, or until fully cooked.

  3. Remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool. Then, cut it into bite-sized pieces.

  4. In a small bowl, mix together sesame oil and white pepper. Drizzle over the chicken.

  5. Serve the Cantonese steeped chicken hot with steamed rice or noodles.
