How To Make Hole Mole’s Horchata Recipe

A refreshing and creamy drink made with rice, almonds, cinnamon, and sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of white rice
  • 1 cup of almonds
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, soak the rice, almonds, and cinnamon sticks in water for 6-8 hours.

  2. Drain the soaked rice, almonds, and cinnamon and discard the water and cinnamon sticks.

  3. In a blender, add the soaked rice and almonds with 2 cups of water and blend until smooth.

  4. Strain the rice and almond mixture through a cheesecloth or fine mesh sieve into a pitcher.

  5. Add the remaining 2 cups of water, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to the pitcher and stir until well combined.

  6. Refrigerate the horchata for at least 2 hours or until chilled.

  7. Serve with ice and enjoy!
