How To Make Fisherman’s Oyster Po’ Boy Recipe

A crispy seafood sandwich with juicy oysters, served with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 8 oz shucked oysters
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • Remoulade sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.

  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. Dip oysters in the flour mixture and coat well.

  4. Fry the oysters in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  5. Drain the oysters on paper towels.

  6. Toast hoagie rolls and spread remoulade sauce on both halves.

  7. Place lettuce and tomato on the bottom half of the roll and top with fried oysters.

  8. Serve hot.
