How To Make Evelyn’s Collard Greens Recipe
A Southern-style side dish featuring tender collard greens with smoky bacon and spicy seasonings.

Ingredients
- 1 bunch collard greens, stems removed and leaves chopped
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Cook bacon in a large pot over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.

Add onion and garlic to the pot with the bacon fat and cook until softened.

Add collard greens to the pot and stir.

Add red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, and salt and pepper to taste.

Pour chicken broth over the top of the collard greens and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and let simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Serve hot, topped with reserved bacon.
