How To Make Evelyn’s Fried Chicken Recipe
Classic southern fried chicken with a crispy exterior and juicy interior.

Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions

In a large bowl, mix together buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Add chicken to the buttermilk mixture and stir to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.

In a shallow dish, mix together flour and baking powder.

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven or deep fryer to 350°F.

Remove chicken from buttermilk mixture, shaking off any excess. Dredge chicken in flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

Place chicken in hot oil and fry, turning occasionally, for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove chicken from oil and drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
