How To Make Evelyn’s Shrimp and Grits Recipe
A classic Southern comfort dish with succulent shrimp and creamy grits.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb of raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup of grits
- 4 cups of water or chicken broth
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of black pepper
- 4 tbsp of unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring water or chicken broth to a boil.

Add grits, salt, pepper, and butter and stir well.

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the grits are cooked.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil.

Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink.

Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese until melted.

Serve the shrimp over the grits.
