How To Make Buca Di Beppo Cannoli Recipe

A classic Italian dessert, crispy cannoli shells filled with sweet ricotta cheese and served with powdered sugar.

Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

  • 8 cannoli shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup candied orange peel
  • Vegetable oil for frying

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in the mini chocolate chips and candied orange peel.

  2. Spoon the filling into a pastry bag and pipe it into each cannoli shell, filling from the center and working your way out.

  3. Fill a large skillet with vegetable oil to a depth of about 1 inch and heat over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F.

  4. Fry the filled cannoli shells in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. Dust the tops of the cannoli with additional powdered sugar and serve immediately.
