Ingredients

  • 1 cup of chopped pecans
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • ½ cup of heavy cream
  • ½ cup of bourbon
  • ½ stick of unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the pecans, brown sugar, heavy cream, bourbon, butter, vanilla extract, and salt.

  2. Cook over medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture starts to boil.

  3. Reduce the heat to low and continue stirring for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens and turns into a caramel color.

  4. Remove the pan from the heat and continue stirring for a minute until the mixture cools down and thickens a bit more.

  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  6. Let the pralines cool and harden for at least an hour before serving.
