Ingredients

  • 1 lb peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 French bread rolls
  • Lettuce and tomato for topping
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 2 tbsp chopped pickles

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.

  2. Dip shrimp in buttermilk, then dredge in the flour mixture.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Fry shrimp until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  5. In another bowl, mix together mayo, hot sauce, and chopped pickles to make the spicy mayo.

  6. Spread spicy mayo on French bread rolls.

  7. Add lettuce and tomato to the rolls, then top with fried shrimp.

  8. Serve hot.
