Bakers Square Banana Cream Pie Recipe

How To Make Bakers Square Banana Cream Pie

A classic creamy banana pie.

Ingredients

  • 1 ready-to-use pie crust
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 and 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Prick bottom and sides with a fork.

  3. Arrange banana slices in the bottom of the crust.

  4. In a saucepan, whisk together sugar and cornstarch. Gradually stir in milk.

  5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils.

  6. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

  7. In a small bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually stir in a small amount of hot milk mixture.

  8. Add egg mixture back to the saucepan and stir.

  9. Cook over medium heat for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  10. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

  11. Pour mixture over bananas in the crust.

  12. Bake for 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

  13. Cool pie completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

  14. Just before serving, top with whipped cream.
