How To Make Aunt Jemima’s Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of Aunt Jemima’s self-rising flour
  • 4 tbsp of unsalted butter, chilled
  • 1 cup of buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.

  2. Cut butter into small pieces and place in the freezer for a few minutes.

  3. In a large bowl, mix the flour and chilled butter with a pastry cutter or fork, until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Add buttermilk to the bowl and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. Scoop the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Then pat the dough to a 1-inch thickness.

  6. Cut out biscuits with a floured biscuit cutter.

  7. Place the biscuits onto a greased baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
