Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.

  5. Fold in the chopped nuts.

  6. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and spread it evenly.

  7. Bake for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Allow the banana nut bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  9. Slice and serve!
