How To Make White Bean and Ham Hock Soup Recipe

A hearty and comforting soup filled with tender ham hock and creamy white beans.

  • 1 pound ham hock
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cans cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • salt and pepper, to taste


  1. In a large pot, add ham hock, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and let simmer for 1 hour.

  2. Add cannellini beans, thyme, salt, and pepper to the pot. Simmer for another 30 minutes.

  3. Remove ham hock from the pot and shred meat. Return meat to the pot.

  4. Serve hot and enjoy!
