Frequently Asked Questions

Do mozzarella cheese sticks melt?

Yes, they do. The thinner mozzarella sticks are, the easier they melt. They melt at around 30 to 90 degrees F. For this reason, we still recommend that you freeze breaded mozzarella sticks before frying. This is to make sure the breadcrumbs cling more to the cheese, creating a thicker coating that prevents the cheese from bursting out.

Can you fry Applebee’s mozzarella sticks without breading?

Yes, you can. High melting point type of cheeses like mozzarella and others like provolone and halloumi can keep their shapes when fried using a deep fryer or skillets.
