Ingredients

  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Oil, for frying
  • Marinara sauce, for dipping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and dried oregano.

  2. Dip each cheese stick into the flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure they are well coated.

  3. Place the coated cheese sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for about 15 minutes.

  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).

  5. Fry the cheese sticks in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Make sure not to overcrowd the pot.

  6. Remove the cheese sticks from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  7. Serve the cheese sticks hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
