  • 1 lb fresh calamari, cleaned and sliced into rings

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Lemon wedges, for serving


  1. In a shallow bowl, mix together flour, salt, paprika, and black pepper.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.

  3. Dip calamari rings into the flour mixture, coating evenly.

  4. Shake off excess flour and carefully drop calamari rings into the hot oil.

  5. Fry calamari for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the pan, fry in batches if needed.

  6. Remove calamari from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  7. Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
