Homemade Sunflower Seed Guacamole Recipe

Start the pre-game shenanigans with a light appetizer that goes well with any beer. The sunflower seeds might not look like much, but they will take your typical guacamole to the next level.

How To Make Homemade Sunflower Seed Guacamole

  • 2 avocados, ripe
  • ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
  • ¼ small onion, diced
  • ½ Serrano pepper, minced (remove seeds and veins)
  • ¼ cup toasted sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice


  1. Cut avocado lengthwise and carefully remove the pit.
  2. Spoon out avocado pulp into a mixing bowl, and mash it with a fork, leaving a couple of bigger chunks.
  3. Fold in remaining ingredients and salt to taste.
  4. Serve right away, with tortillas or eat it as a spread, over multigrain crackers.
