How To Make Soup Maker Pea & Ham Soup

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 400g green split peas
  • 200g ham, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1.2 liters vegetable or chicken stock
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the split peas and set aside.

  2. Preheat the soup maker and select the sauté function.

  3. Add the ham, onion, carrots, celery, and garlic to the soup maker. Sauté for 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  4. Add in the split peas, bay leaf, thyme, and stock. Close the lid and select the soup function.

  5. Allow the soup maker to cook for 60 minutes or until the split peas are tender.

  6. Once cooked, remove the bay leaf and blend the soup until smooth using a hand blender or countertop blender.

  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
