Tender beef meatballs coated in a sweet and savory Mongolian BBQ sauce.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- Sesame seeds and additional green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, green onions, egg, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
-
Shape the mixture into 1 1/2 inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
-
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
-
In a separate small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water. Slowly stir the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan and continue to stir until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
-
Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the oven and carefully toss them in the Mongolian BBQ sauce until they are fully coated.
-
Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with sesame seeds and additional green onions if desired.
