How To Make Chicken and Asparagus Stir Fry

Tender chicken and crisp asparagus are coated in an Asian-inspired sauce in this chicken and asparagus stir-fry. Plus, you can whip this up in half an hour.

  • 1tbspvegetable oil
  • 1lbchicken breastsboneless, skinless, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • saltto taste
  • pepperto taste
  • 1lbasparagus stalkstrimmed and cut into 1½-inch pieces
  • 2tspgarlicminced
  • 1tspgingerminced
  • ¼cupchicken broth
  • tspsugar
  • 1tbspsoy sauce
  • 2tspsesame oil
  • 1tbspcornstarch


  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium high heat.

  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Add the chicken to the pan in a single layer. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side or until browned.

  4. Add the asparagus to the pan and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until tender.

  5. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds.

  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil and cornstarch.

  7. Pour the sauce over the chicken and asparagus and bring to a simmer. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until sauce has thickened, then serve.
