How To Make Filet Mignon

Ingredients

  • 4 filet mignon steaks (6 oz each)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Optional: fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Season the filet mignon steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.

  4. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side until well browned.

  5. Transfer the steaks to a baking dish and finish cooking in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes for medium-rare (or longer for desired doneness).

  6. In the same skillet, melt the butter and add minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant.

  7. Remove the steaks from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.

  8. Serve the filet mignon steaks with the garlic butter sauce drizzled on top. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.
