This unique apple bean soup recipe has a sweet flavor from the honey and apples but is quite savory from the ham, bacon and onions. It’s a fantastic combination just the way Grandma made it.

How To Make Grandma's Apple Bean Soup
Ingredients
- 2 tsp canola oil
- 3 tsp honey
- 1 tsp ground mustard
- 3 cans navy beans, large
- 1/2 lb bacon, chopped
- 1/2 lb ham, cubed
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 can tomato juice, large
- 2 Granny Smith apples, cut in rings
Instructions

Mix oil, honey, ground mustard with beans. Add to a slow cooker.

Gently stir in the bacon pieces, ham and onion.

Add the can of tomato juice. Layer apple rings over the top of everything.

Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 6 hours.
