How To Make Coconut Curry Prawn Recipe

  • 500g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 can (400ml) coconut milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped cilantro, for garnish


  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent.

  2. Add garlic and chili, cook for 1-2 minutes.

  3. Add curry powder and turmeric, stir to combine.

  4. Add prawns and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.

  5. Pour in coconut milk and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. Garnish with cilantro and serve over rice.
