Ingredients

  • 500g mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat coconut oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Saute until they turn translucent.

  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook for a minute.

  3. Add the turmeric powder and tomatoes. Cook until the tomatoes become soft and mushy.

  4. Add the cleaned mussels to the pan and mix well.

  5. Pour in the coconut milk and season with salt. Cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes or until the mussels are cooked through.

  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or crusty bread.
