  • 4 hotdog buns
  • 4 hotdogs
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Place the sliced onions on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.

  3. Roast the onions in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are caramelized and sticky. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

  4. While the onions are roasting, grill or heat the hotdogs according to package instructions.

  5. Once the onions are done, remove them from the oven and set aside.

  6. Place the cooked hotdogs in the buns and top each one with a generous amount of the sticky roasted onions.

  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
