How To Make Ciabatta Pizzas with Sticky Onions

Ingredients

  • 4 ciabatta rolls
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.

  3. Stir in the brown sugar and continue cooking for another 5 minutes until the onions are sticky.

  4. Slice the ciabatta rolls in half horizontally. Place them on a baking sheet.

  5. Spread a layer of the caramelized onions on each ciabatta half. Top with mozzarella cheese and cherry tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

  8. Serve the ciabatta pizzas hot.
