How To Make Grilled Cheese Deluxe

This grilled cheese recipe has two kinds of cheese to make it extra cheesy and gooey.

  • 8 pcs sourdough bread, ½ inch thick
  • 4 oz gruyere, emmental or raclette cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cheddar cheese, grated
  • cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp green onions, chopped
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

For Serving:

  • potato fries
  • tomato soup, or should of your choice


  1. Combine all the cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, and chopped onion.

  2. Spread mixture on one side of 4 of the bread slices to within ¼-inch of edges.

  3. Top with remaining bread slices. Spread softened butter on the outer sides of the sandwiches.

  4. Heat up a skillet over medium-low heat. Place your sandwich. Heat until it turns golden brown and cheese has slightly melted, turning once.

  5. Serve with either potato fries or as a side for tomato soup.
