How To Make Swedish Meatballs with Beetroot & Apple Salad

Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- For the salad:
- 2 beetroots, cooked and diced
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 2 cups mixed salad greens
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.

Shape the mixture into small meatballs.

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove meatballs from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth and bring to a simmer.

Return meatballs to the skillet and simmer for 15 minutes, or until cooked through.

Stir in heavy cream and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the salad by combining beetroots, apple slices, salad greens, and chopped walnuts in a large bowl.

Serve Swedish meatballs with the beetroot and apple salad. Garnish with fresh parsley.
