Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, allspice, and nutmeg. Mix well until combined.

  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  3. In a skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, then transfer them to a slow cooker.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk together flour and beef broth until well blended. Pour the mixture over the meatballs in the slow cooker.

  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the meatballs are cooked through.

  6. Stir in the sour cream just before serving.

  7. Serve the Swedish meatballs over cooked egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
