Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until fully cooked and browned.

  5. While the meatballs are baking, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

  6. Add the flour and whisk constantly for 1-2 minutes or until the mixture turns golden brown.

  7. Gradually pour in the beef broth while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

  8. Add the Worcestershire sauce and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes or until it thickens.

  9. Stir in the heavy cream and let everything simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

  10. Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to the saucepan and gently stir to coat them with the sauce.

  11. Let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 5-10 minutes or until heated through.
