  • lbsshrimp,extra-large, peeled and deveined
  • 3tbspbutter,melted
  • tbspfresh lemon juice
  • 2tbspfresh parsley,minced
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • tspsugar
  • 4tspolive oil,divided
  • 2garlic cloves,minced


  1. In a bowl mix together butter, lemon juice, and parsley. Set aside.

  2. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels then sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon of salt, ¼ teaspoon of pepper, and the sugar.

  3. Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Add half the garlic and half the shrimp to skillet and cook turning once until shrimp is cooked through and opaque, for a total of 3 minutes.

  5. Transfer to a piece of foil and wrap to keep warm. Repeat cooking process with remaining shrimp then remove skillet from heat.

  6. Return shrimp in foil to pan with other the shrimp. Pour butter mixture over shrimp and toss to coat. Serve warm.

Recipe Notes

  • For best results, be sure to pat the shrimps dry before cooking.
  • Shrimp only has to cook a few minutes; it’s finished cooking when it’s pink all around.
  • Fresh lemon juice is a must for this recipe.
