How To Make Ina Garten Meatloaf

This Ina Garten meatloaf is inspired by the chef’s own creation! Ground beef is packed with ketchup and warm spices and herbs for a heartier dinner meal.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 1 hour 15 minutes
Total: 1 hour 30 minutes



  • 1tbspolive oil
  • 3large white onions,chopped
  • 1tspdried thyme,chopped
  • 1tspkosher salt
  • 1tspblack pepper
  • 3tbspworcestershire sauce
  • cupchicken stock
  • 1tbsptomato paste
  • lbground beef
  • ½cupbreadcrumbs
  • 2extra large eggs,beaten
  • ½cupketchup


  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

  2. Heat olive oil in a medium saute pan.

  3. Throw onions, thyme, salt and pepper and cook over medium to low heat, stirring occasionally for about 8 to 10 minutes,.

  4. Turn off the heat, add the Worcestershire sauce, chicken stock, and tomato paste. Permit to cool slightly.

  5. Combine chicken stock, ground chuck, onion mixture, bread crumbs, and eggs in a bowl and and mix lightly with a fork. Do not mash or the meat loaf will be dense.

  6. Shape the mixture into a rectangular loaf on a sheet pan covered with parchment paper.

  7. Spread the catsup evenly on top. Bake for 1 to 1¼ hours, until the internal temperature is 160 degrees F and the meat loaf is cooked through.

  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
